The COVID-19 heavily affects the economy of the world, thus also affects the spending habits of individuals in Hong Kong. Many individuals suffer from debts from mortgages, credit cards or personal loans which are beyond their ability to repay to the creditors.

In this webinar, Mr. Alan Cheung, Principal of restructuring services of Wing United CPA Limited who has over 20 years of experience in handling debt restructuring for individuals, will introduce alternatives to bankruptcy such as Debt Relief Plan (DRP) and Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) in Hong Kong. He will also share his experiences of the differences in handling debt restructurings from SARS in 2003, Financial Tsunami in 2008 and COVID-19 in 2020.

Mr. Alan Cheung, FCPA, SD (Insolvency), CTA(HK)

Mr. Alan Cheung has over 20 years of experience in insolvency management, corporate restructuring, forensic accounting and litigation support working with specialist insolvency firms in Hong Kong.

Alan is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”), Restructuring and Insolvency Faculty of the HKICPA and INSOL International which is an international association of restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy professionals. He is also awarded the Specialist Designation in Insolvency by the HKICPA, in which there are only around 65 accountants have been awarded out of the 44,000 plus members of the HKICPA.

Alan is also a member of The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong and a Certified Tax Adviser.
