About the Speakers:
 
Prof. Jack POON, Professor of Practice, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

 
Jack has been a Professor of Practice in the School of Accounting and Finance at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) since 2018.  He teaches graduate classes in blockchain, FinTech, and entrepreneurial finance and oversees digital assets research projects for students and researchers.
Before teaching, Jack was a serial entrepreneur, startup advisor, venture investor, finance head of US-listing company, and Silicon Valley veteran.  He is a non-official member of the Web3 Task Force chaired by the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, a board member of the eMPF Platform Ltd, and a co-opted member of the Advisory Group on Digital Economy and Information Technology of the Hong Kong Consumer Council.  Between 2021 and 2023, he served as a member of the Fintech Advisory Group for the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
Jack had three master's degrees from the Chicago Booth School of Business, Stanford University, and California Institute of Technology.
